Horsemanship Foundation Clinic - Level 1 Clinic participants will enjoy the experience of learning how to communicate with their horse using Bob & Suz's proven gentle methods of giving the horse that "want to" attitude we all desire. In this hands-on clinic, riders and their horses will train together, learn together and succeed together. As they teach clinic participants just how easy it is to train their horse to become supple, attentive, respectful & safer under saddle Bob and Suz will work with everyone individually until each person and horse understands and can perform the steps given in the clinic. * LEARN to communicate with individual parts of the horse in order to gain control over the whole horse * TRAIN your horse to become a willing parter instead of trying to win the battle of wills * MASTER riding techniques that will dramatically improve the partnership between you and your horse Available Friday Night Round Pen Show Bob begins with a discussion of his training methods and philosophies at 7:00 pm. He demonstrates the use of the round pen to teach the horse to focus, overcome various problems or begin under saddle. This is an interactive show where questions are welcome anytime. You'll be amazed at the transformation that occurs as the horses learning process unfolds and he becomes more and more responsive to Bob's suggestions. Saturday Bob and Suzanne will start the riding clinic at 9:00 am with an interactive lecture and demonstration for the whole group. Insight into how horses think, horsemanship tips and Two as One training philosophies will be shared in an educational, entertaining format. All participants will also learn how to communicate with their horses through the reins. Depending on group size we may divide the riders into two groups, working with one group at a time to maintain a small student-teacher ratio. We'll start each group with a little ground work where we introduce Bob's unique "Vowel Method of Applied Pressure™ ". Then we'll mount up to learn the initial 3 parts of Bob's Partnership Training for Horse and Rider. As you teach your horse to become lighter, softer and more responsive, Suzanne will teach several points of equitation such as breathing, body position, balancing, etc. Each group will play with their horses for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Sunday We'll begin at 9:00 am as a whole group (no horses yet!), discussing the work accomplished so far, as well as any specific questions or challenges. Then we'll all participate in a fascinating exercise designed to help us learn a lot about ourselves as riders/trainers! Next, Suzanne will introduce important principles of Centered Riding(r), helping to develop improved body awareness, balance, etc. After an early lunch we may break into 2 groups again, with the second group from Horsemanship Foundation Clinic - Level 2 Bob & Suzanne's Wind Rider Challenge Clinic & Competition The Self-Help for Riders Clinics Complete Ground Manners Clinic Horsemanship Education Courses
